SharePoint is an incredible (and often underrated) suite of products from Microsoft that makes it easy to set up web sites to share information with others and much more. Many of our clients had not realised that they already had access to some of the capabilities of SharePoint through their current licencing for Microsoft Windows Server, Small Business Server or their use of Microsoft Office 365 or Exchange Online products.
As with all custom developments, it is a case of using tools appropriately for the job in hand and working to the strengths (both technical and commercial) of the tools. Using the capabilities of both Windows SharePoint Services and Exchange Online we have created custom developments that cover controlled document sharing, contact management, task tracking, work sheet control and more.
