Aspen Software's Extensible Reporting component
allows a Visual Basic application to provide a user friendly, coherent and extensible
method for running reports produced with Seagate Crystal Reports.
Simplicity & Power
Through an intuitive interface, reports that are
available within an application can be selected for production. (Options are also
available to limit user choices and to initiate reports without user interaction.)
For ease of use, reports available for production may be subdivided
into functional areas. Selection of information for inclusion within the report is easily
carried out via the Data Selection Business Building Block and
reports can be integrated with the Automation component for out
of hours or background production. Reports may be viewed on screen prior to printing,
printed immediately or saved in a number of file formats.
Flexible Set Up
Once the component has been
integrated within an application and the relevant control tables have been added to the
application database, no programming is required to incorporate further reports into the
system. Indeed, power users can even specify their own Crystal Reports and have them
seamlessly integrated with the application.
