Aspen Software's Data Selection Business Building
Block component allows a user-friendly selection mechanism to be rapidly added to Visual
Basic applications that need to access an SQL database. The component allows the internal
production of SQL search clauses that may then be used in conjunction with data retrieval
and reporting elements of an application.
Simplicity & Power
Through an intuitive interface, users can quickly
specify default search criteria.
Where more complex conditions need to be entered, a range of
alternative conditions may be applied and combined.
Where searches are frequently performed using the same criteria, details may be
stored by the user for rapid re-use. As an aid to productivity, standard sets of data may
also be browsed before selections are made.
Flexible Set Up
Once the component has been integrated within an
application and the relevant control table has been added to the application database, no
programming is required to define and extend the available selection criteria. This
provides an extremely cost effective and extensible method for data selection.
